Q: I just started telling one of my friends at school about Jesus but with the coronavirus, I’m not sure how to keep talking to them because it’s hard to bring it up online and invite them to youth group because it’s all online - what should I do?

- Emily

A: Hi Emily, that is a tough scenario which I’m sure many viewers can relate to. Talking to somebody about your faith is hard enough, even without the extra hurdle of not being able to talk in person. I agree that inviting them to an online youth group is not the best thing to do currently. It is fun, but it will be difficult for them to learn, because it’s all online, and they won’t be able to really form many relationships with the other attendees when online. I would slip it into conversations you may have over the internet. It will be difficult, but if she has expressed interest in Jesus, then it will be well worth it. That being said though, make sure you don’t go overboard because talking to someone about your faith is a delicate topic, just go over what you have told them before the quarantine was enforced.

More importantly, you know your friend better than I do. Think about what she may be comfortable doing. If you think she would be more comfortable holding off on Jesus talk until the quarantine is lifted, then do that.

Pray about it. God has a plan for you and your friend.

Q: Since quarantine, some days feel like they go on forever, and others feel like they’ve barely started. I’m finding the lifestyle really confusing and hard to cope with. I feel anxious all the time about whether my grandparents or loved ones will get sick. I don’t know how to calm myself down and I’m super worried for them. Any advice?

A: Thank you for writing in ANONYMOUS. It sounds as though you are going through a bit of a rough patch at the moment, but don’t worry, thousands of people around the world feel the same as you do. For the new confusing lifestyle, the best thing you can do is build a routine. For example, starting your day off with a walk, or making a cup of tea, maybe even calling a friend, just to catch up. In this magazine, you can find some fun stuff to occupy your time with! As for worrying about grandparents and loved ones, I suggest giving them a call, chat to them and even ask them if they need any groceries or other supplies, that way they don't need to leave their house and break the quarantine. That will help your peace of mind. Another thing you can do is pray. God has a big plan, and you are a part of it.
